I have read on this site that if you write to Ray, he will reply. I was skeptical about this, so I wrote him about how much I appreciated reading the book Crisis of Conscience and thanked him for his time and effort in writing and documenting his experiences in bethel. After a few weeks with no reply, I thought that I would never get one. It came today, just short of a month since I sent the email. He first apoligized for taking so long to respond, but the after effects of a small stroke years ago and his advancing age leaves him tired. He said that he is getting more mail than ever with CoC being published in 13 languages. He truly is a kind and caring person. On May 8th he will be 87 years old, please join me then in wishing him a happy birthday and continued health and happiness.

"Youth book" said 97% of teenagers Masturbate...but none of them are Witnesses! Is this unrealistic?
by Witness 007 in"youth" book and "young people ask" admitts that 97% boys and 92% of girls masturbate but of course none of the holy decent witness teenagers would ever do such a thing and earn jehovahs anger!

You know jw's love to act hollier than thou, any chance to show it encourages more of it. Try to avoid them if at all possible. Maybe your daughter and BF can meet grandma somewhere away from uber elder. It may not be what she wanted, but atleast BF can meet her/your family.

Since they are the only ones that God talks to, it kind of makes sense that they are the only ones who can talk to him. Makes sense in a jw kind of way, that is.
God's only channel of communication? Can't get a prophecy or a date right in over 100 years. The GB couldn't predict a pimple on their own ass after they see the red bump forming.

In Maryland we had 30" a few days ago, just got dug out and another 24" last night & today. Now 30 - 40 mph winds to blow everything shut again. Where is the end of this system? I think I'm ready for it.

Who are they trying to Convince?
by Frank75 inrecently the father of one of my old jw friend's father, who was a holocaust survivor, died.....he was a devout jw but hated the bethel hierarchy and the pharisism in the watchtower, openly disagreed with published positions and defied the eldership.. he once lamented to me that the people who wanted his information and memorabilia from the nazi concentration camp "are apostate makers, teaching people to hate jehober and his organ....ization".....and "i will never get the stuff back".
anyway, you all know how jw funerals work.
they usually take weeks in order to schedule and drum up enough support to make it "an occasion".. although not always the case, the funeral is more or less an infomercial where the jw's use the time to further indoctrinate their unique beliefs.

C.O. Talked about the fact that we may die in this system
by life is to short inbeing that my husband is still going to most of the meetings, i tied into the meeting sunday to see what the co had to say on his last day at the hall.
one thing i found interesting is that we may die in this system.
he said when he first learned the "truth" he just knew for sure that the system would end before he was baptized and he was so stressed out from it.
